Junior & Senior National Championship, AWD Invitational Recap

The 2024 Junior and Senior National Championship, along with the AWD Invitational reached a thrilling conclusion in Houston. A total of 199 junior, 57 senior, and 15 AWD athletes showcased their talents over five days at the Cypress Fairbanks Auditorium in Texas. 

In the senior division, Olivia Perez from the Santa Clara Aquamaids had an outstanding performance in the lone star state earning the title of High Point Athlete of the Year. Perez’s exceptional performance included notable placements such as 4^th in acrobatic team, 2^nd in team free, 3^rd in solo technical, 3^rd in the solo free, 3^rd in team technical, and taking 1^st place in duet technical. 

These achievements were made possible with the guidance of Coach Ou Liu and Yuliya Roysental, who was deservingly awarded Coach of the Year. Thanks to their leadership and the stellar performances from the rest of the team, the Santa Clara Aquamaids also claimed the title of High Point Team of the Year for the 2024 Senior National Championship. 

In the junior division Dalia Ovadia from the Walnut Creek Aquanuts was named the High Point Athlete of the year, securing an impressive seven 1^st place finishes at the Junior National Championship. 

Under the guidance of coach Tammy McGregor, who was rightfully named Coach of the Year, the Aquanuts secured the title of High Point Team of the Year demonstrating their major success at the event. 
 
USAAS is set to return to Houston for another exciting week of competition for the Youth Championships and 12U Invitational.
